Transport to Converge on Canberra event

FREE PALESTINE MELBOURNE (FPM) is organising some transport from Melbourne/Naarm to the Converge On Canberra event and return.
Please read the following details before making your registration.
When: 20-22 July 2025

THE SCHEDULE OF CANBERRA EVENTS:
- Sunday 20 July – 2pm Sunday rally & march
- Monday 21 July – National Planning Day (times/venue tba)
- Tuesday 22 July – 10am Rally at the opening of Parliament House – depart Canberra mid-afternoon to return to Melbourne.
TRANSPORT OPTIONS:
Depending on response/registrations, Free Palestine Melbourne can arrange:
(1) COACH/BUS 22 July:
- This will be a 24+ hours return trip to attend the 10am Tuesday 22 July rally at the opening of Parliament; there will be no overnight stay in Canberra. You will sleep on the bus to/from Canberra.
- The bus will depart Melbourne 11pm Monday 21 July, and
- Return to Melbourne by approximately 11pm Tuesday 22 July.
- We will arrange central pick-up/drop-off locations in Melbourne, but you will be responsible to get yourself to/from those locations.
(2) MULTI-SEAT VANS:
- Depart Melbourne 6am Sunday 20 July 2025, and
- Return to Melbourne by approximately 11pm Tuesday 22 July.
- Overnight 2 nights in Canberra – you will be able to attend the Sunday rally, events on Monday and the rally at the opening of Parliament on the Tuesday.
- You are responsible to arrange your own accommodation.
- We will arrange central pick-up/drop-off locations in Melbourne, but you will be responsible to get yourself to/from those locations.
Ticket prices for all buses/vans are:
$20 Palestinians & First Nations / $40 Concession / $80 Waged / $120 Solidarity
(3) CAR-POOL/RIDE-SHARE:
Free Palestine Melbourne (FPM) is happy to coordinate some car-pool/ride-share options for activists. You are responsible to negotiate sharing of journey costs with the driver. You can either:
(a) Request to JOIN a ride-share
(b) ADD your car to the car-pool
ACCOMMODATION:
Free Palestine Melbourne WILL NOT be arranging accommodation in Canberra. You are responsible to arrange your own accommodation in Canberra. Organisers say there will be an option to camp if you have your own tent and a very warm sleeping bag – Canberra is very cold in winter.

Participants elect to join these transport options at their own risk. Children under the age of 18 must travel with their responsible adult. Free Palestine Melbourne (FPM) is helping to coordinate transport, and takes no responsibility or liability for any injury, loss or personal harm that may occur during travel or at the event/s.
