FPM Statement: Condemnation of Israeli military strikes on the Islamic Republic of Iran

Free Palestine Melbourne strongly condemns the recent military strikes carried out by the Israeli occupation against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which resulted in the killing of civilians, including women and children, and targeted both civilian and strategic sites.

This act of aggression represents a dangerous escalation and a clear attempt by Israel to destabilise the Middle East and provoke a broader, long-term conflict. While countries across the region have condemned this reckless behaviour, the United States continues to provide military and diplomatic cover, enabling Israel’s repeated violations of international law.

The attack serves as yet another example of the impunity enjoyed by Israeli leaders many of whom are wanted by the International Criminal Court and highlights their willingness to extend their campaign of violence beyond Palestine, threatening the security and sovereignty of neighbouring states.

We call on the Australian Government to urgently and unequivocally condemn this unlawful assault and to impose meaningful sanctions on Israel. Australia must not remain silent in the face of war crimes and aggression that undermine regional stability and violate the principles of international peace and justice.
