21-year-old Palestinian Killed in Israeli Military Raid in Nablus

A Palestinian man was killed by Israeli military fire in Nablus in the early hours of Monday, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent.

The Palestinian Health Ministry says the man who was killed is 21-year-old Amir Bastami and that this marks the 48th Palestinian to be killed by Israeli forces this year.

According to the IDF, its security forces entered the city to arrest suspects involved in the killing of Sgt. Ido Baruch in October. Two of the suspects involved in the incident were arrested but injured in an exchange of fire with the soldiers, the IDF confirmed, and three other wanted persons were arrested.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that five Palestinians had been wounded in the operation, though it is unclear if that includes the two suspects.

The incident follows weeks of increased Israeli-Palestinian tension amid a number of Israeli military raids in the West Bank and fatal terror attacks, the most recent on Friday in Jerusalem.
