Seeds of division

Let every anti-Israel, anti-Jew protester and graffiti-sprayer have the guts to stand up and identify themselves.

Your paper (“Echoes of evil on our shore”, SHS, 26/5) points to the tragic fact that a strong section of those who proudly proclaim themselves “activists”, and who regularly take control of our streets in the name of their free speech, are reviving nothing less than the anti-Jewish fervour that preceded the Holocaust.

And if you have not informed yourself of those awful times, you have no right to anti-Jewish opinions today.

Let those who advocate against Israel and Jewry have the guts to remove the face masks, and try to make their case in rational, respectful debate.

Australia prides itself on being peacefully “multicultural”, but in fact we stand on a precipice.

Allow this Jewish hatred, this hangover from the 1930s, to go on and Australia will be forever divided and at war with itself.

I know which side of the street I stand on.
