The international community’s clear and powerful message to the Netanyahu government is that Israel’s threatened brutal attack on Rafah, where most Gaza citizens are currently based, would be a war crime or a crime against humanity (Israel to discuss tactics for truce, HS, 18/3).

As US President Joe Biden and his Secretary of State Antony Blinken have hinted, PM Netanyahu is more motivated by political survival than the need for peace and stability for both Israelis and Palestinians.
