Agreeing with Dutton
Dutton shows courage
Congratulations to Opposition Leader Peter Dutton for his demonstration of moral courage, clarity, guts and intestinal fortitude by visiting the site of the slaughter of the innocent victims of Hamas terror atrocities and making a bold, carefully measured stand in the defence of our national security.
By stark contrast Labor, the Greens and teals have shown their true colours when taking cheap shots at the Opposition.
Branding the Opposition heartless and racist demonstrates their inability to mount an intelligible argument to debate facts, so they have to resort to ugly name-calling, astonishingly blind to the fact anti-Semitism is racism.
That Labor has lost its moral compass searching for votes is reprehensible.
The Prime Minister has again been caught out attempting to duck shove and abrogate his No.1 responsibility to keep us safe.
Dutton nailed it in his opinion piece “Without checks Gaza intake is a security risk” (SHS, 18/8).
It’s too risky for neighbouring countries in the Middle East or for the US or UK, so it’s insanity for our government to act as Hamas’s “useful idiots” allowing Gazans, ruled by these terrorists, visas in less than 24 hours from a war-torn country.
Former immigration minister Andrew Giles made a dog’s breakfast of releasing hard-core criminals from immigration detention into the community, and the current administration shows no appetite to stem the wave of unchecked potential extremists and terrorists arriving.
It will only come back to bite us.

National security risk
I totally agree with Peter Dutton that without thorough checks, the Gaza intake is a security risk.
What advice was provided to the federal government by the heads of the Department of Immigration and ASIO before Anthony Albanese announced we would take in people from Gaza?
I would be surprised if ASIO head Mike Burgess’s advice differed materially from Dutton’s position, particularly as ASIO’s primary role is to keep Australians safe.
Labor has proved it is irresponsible when it comes to national security and keeping Australians safe.

‘Useful idiots’ exposed
Peter Dutton is to be commended for his first-hand interest in the authenticity of the atrocities of October 7, 2023 in Israel, perpetrated by Hamas terrorists.
Labor and the Greens have accused him of inciting racism, xenophobia and division.
To the contrary, he exposes the propagandist rhetoric exploiting those “useful idiots” who are ignorant of the terrible facts thus causing social division and political chaos.
Dutton calls for a forensic background investigation into any potential “asylum seekers” entering Australia.
There’s no guarantee that terrorist sympathisers won’t be admitted with the limited security that the Labor government considers to be adequate.
Australian communities have been placed at terrible risk by this incompetence and weak leadership.
